Simon P.K. Bowring is a post-doctoral researcher at the LSCE. Once trained as an economist, he focusses on global scale modelling of fundamental earth system processes, with recent subjects including soil-hydrological coupling of permafrost-region carbon cycle, pyrogenic carbon impacts on the global carbon balance, land fragmentation impacts on fire behaviour, and extreme fires. He holds a PhD from LSCE/U. Paris-Saclay, and Master’s degrees in Ecological Economics (School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, UK)) and Climate-Earth System Sciences (Wageningen University (NL)).
