Ying-Ping Wang

Ying-Ping Wang is a chief research scientist at CSIRO. Dr Wang obtained his PhD in plant physiology from Edinburgh University in 1988, and joined CSIRO as a research scientist in 1990. He led the development of the Australian community land model (CABLE) as a key component of the Australian community earth system model (ACCESS). He also developed the first global model of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycles on land and studied impact nutrient limitation on land carbon uptake and carbon-climate feedback using earth system modelling. His current interests include global land surface modelling, process-based models of carbon and nutrient cycles, model-data fusion, machine learning and land-based climate mitigation.
